Managing Difficult Situations and Conflict with Parents

 

Inservice Training Workshops for Headteachers, Senior Managers and Staff. Delivery by Leapwade or the school.

 

Course Summary

 

This one-day workshop is designed to help headteachers and teachers enhance their skills in dealing with parental concerns, complaints, criticism and aggression. It combines use of DVD/video situations with workbook activities, discussion, theoretical principles and trainer input.

 

Both primary and secondary materials used by NCSL for NPQH training

  • realistic and enjoyable DVD/video scenarios show teachers handling a wide variety of difficult situations
  • examples of good and bad practice illustrate the underlying principles and provide the basis for lively discussion
  • individual and group workbook activities guide the analysis of behaviours and lead to the development of a skills model / framework for handling complaints and aggression
  • morning session - complaint handling
  • afternoon session - policies and procedures
  • situations which have safety and/or legal implications
